About Me

Hi, I’m Tricklowe

Hi, I’m Rick Lowe, AKA ‘tricklowe’.

I know… …doesn’t sound like much, does it?

It really shouldn’t sound like anything too crazy. I am, after all,  pretty-much an average ordinary, every-day type of guy.

You’ve probably never heard of me, and I’m okay with that.

I work in sales, in San Diego, in a job I thoroughly enjoy. I have a family of 4, which includes my wife, Meegan, and my two children.

This is my blog, from which I hope you’ll be able to get a lot of value out of. It’s full of some amazingly useful tips and information that any small business person can use in their web site, on their blog, marketing, sales, and much much more.

You have no money, but want to make as big an impact as you can possibly make, and bootstrap your company into the stratosphere?

You’re in the right place… …but anyway, a little more about me.

Former Pro Skater

I used to skate Pivotboards professionally, which was awesome!

I’ve travelled the world extensively, and been in many international competitions, and had a great time doing it all. Then again, the WAS back when I didn’t have as many responsibilities as I have now. I also had a HELL OF A LOT MORE spare time back then.

Remember being BORED? Did you also used to say you had NOTHING TO DO? Where the hell did THAT go?

I still skate pivotboards now almost every day, but I unfortunately don’t have the spare time, energy (I’m 40 years old now), or dedication levels to pursue that anymore with any depth of seriousness.

It IS still one of my favorite things to do in the whole world, and I hope I can continue to do it for a very long time.

I still have a hope, however, that I will find something to fill the money gap, so I can have more spare time to spend with my family, and skate.

My Entrepreneurial Side

This blog is your window into my entrepreneurial world.

I’ve had 2 pretty successful businesses in my life. Both of which were started with almost nothing, bootstrapped up from the ground, into successful ventures. I love the freedom and creativity of entrepreneurship.

I love finding solutions to problems, having to think on your feet constantly, and provide many different solutions to so many varied issues that running a business throws at you.

I also loved having the flexibility to work when you want to, and spend time with your family, is something I’m, really missing at the moment. Having to slum it and to the grocery shopping at the weekends when everyone else does it? Not a fan.

Where am I now?

At the moment I’m working in direct sales, for a company in San Diego. I need the stability of regular income, as I recently closed down one of my businesses. As I figure out my next move in business, I’m extremely thankful for my job, and I absolutely love it, even though it’s a full 90 minute commute each way.

I’m currently in the middle of a transition from my last successful venture into newer, and hopefully much more exciting ones. I’ve been fortunate to have been successful throughout the years in a few different different ventures in self-employment, and in employment in sales.

At this moment in my life, I’m pretty much just an average ordinary guy, with an ordinary job, working on something different.

Be warned, however. I have gargantuan sized dreams and expectations from the world around me, so I won’t be just sitting here on my arse waiting for retirement.

I expect a lot out of life. I have no idea why, in fact I envy people that like to keep things simple sometimes.

So Where am I going with this?

I, like many people around me, although not as many as one might expect, believe I deserve more out of life.

Don’t get me wrong, I’m not one of those expecting everything to come to me on a silver platter… ….far from it, actually.

I expect to hustle and work my ass off. I expect to work every single minute of the day that I’m awake and alive but I also expect to get something back for it.I have several small online businesses that I’m incubating, I have products I manufacture and create, and a million and one ideas I don’t have time to execute, also.

Chances are, if you’re like me, and you sometimes aren’t sure about your next move, you know where I’m coming from today.

My Skillset

Over the years I’ve used the power of broke, to be creative in all my approaches.

I’ve had to teach myself many useful skills, many of which people spend hundreds of thousands of dollars learning at schools or colleges. I’ve even been able to bootstrap a business from the change on the bedroom floor, to a 6 figure income for many years.

I’m here to share my knowledge and experiences with you.  I’m hoping these skills may be of use to you in YOUR entrepreneurial journey.

Chances are, you’re a little like me. You’re bootstrapping your next venture off the ground, and want to know how is the best way to get to it. How can you get the most bang for your buck? How can you get the best results, without spending money on things not worth spending on?

This blog is dedicated to the bootstrapping entrepreneur. The gutsy, ballsy fighter in all of us. The David that will ultimately slay Goliath in a montage of smartly executed ideas coupled with some fresh creativity.

You wanna figure out how to design a logo for you company, and not pay a graphic designer to do it for you?

Let ME Help YOU

You’ll probably want to get a professional website together without spending thousands to a designer you can’t afford already, only to have the site look out of date within a few years, and have to pay all over again.

It’s always best to have complete control, and be able to publish new content whenever you want on your web site. Small businesses change quickly, and your site needs to be updated and changed, so you can tweak your business to be as efficient as possible, and look awesome always.

Ever wondered which books on business are the best ones to read, that will ACTUALLY be of use to you?

I can definitely recommend some KILLER books for you, no matter what area of business you need help in.

Want to figure out how to set up facebook, instagram, and all these other social networks, to drive traffic to your site, and produce results for you?

Whether it’s advice on graphics production in photoshop, illustrator, or what books to read, what iPhone apps will help you the most, I’ll be able to help you somewhere.

If you maybe need help with online marketing using web sites, blogging, or using of the social media platforms available today, I’ve got you. Just let me know if there’s anything you think you might need some help with.

If you need help starting a business or designing a product. If you even perhaps you just need advice on personal growth and motivation, I’m here for you.

It’s tough to survive in this modern business environment, and as entrepreneurs, marketers, and bloggers. We all need to stick together and share our experiences in all areas.
